There is always a why in photography.

Today marks seventeen years since the day my father passed away unexpectedly. My father was an amazing man of God, who did anything he could to help another person. He believed in finding the good in people, and always pursuing what the Lord had for him. His heart for others is why I want to do what I can to be there for those around me, especially my clients.

Because I was so young when my father passed away, photos are pretty much all I've had. I'm forever grateful to have those pictures of him and me, and my family. Photos have held a special place in my life for as long as I can remember. You could always catch me taking a photo or video wherever I was, and I was especially taking them of my family and friends. It's been my favorite thing to look back at memories and not only remember the story behind them, but also to see how much things have changed since then. As cheesy as it sounds, photos really do last a lifetime, and I strive everyday to do help curate photos that you can look back on in a few years and remember exactly what you were feeling. My heart is in the story, the love, and the emotion. You are what matters most in my business. You as a client. You as a business partner. You as a friend.

When I started this business, my husband can attest to the fact that I did not want to do weddings... I have always loved them though. I've dealt with social anxiety since high school and the thought of having to be around so many people that I had never met before gave me serious anxiety. So, as most photographers do, I started off small. I offered mini sessions, free sessions, and every session that people asked me to do. As this business has become less of a hobby and more serious for me, I've done my best to figure out what it is I truly love doing, and one thing was clear- I love weddings. I love weddings more than I ever thought I would and I try not to let my anxiety get in the way of that. Weddings are those memories you don't want to forget, and on that special day it's so easy to get swept up in the craziness of it all, which is what I want to be there for.

Those memories that I love so much to capture? Love is probably my favorite out of all of them. Seeing the love that my clients have for one another is enough to give me butterflies, and it's my absolute honor to be included in that love! My hope and prayer is that a few months after your session/wedding, or even a few years, you'll look back on your photos and be able to recount what it is you loved about that day. The photos will last a lifetime beyond one bad day or bad season, and prove to be a reminder of what it is that matters most to you.

So what is my why behind this business? I am a couples and wedding photographer because your story matters just as much to me as it does to you. I am forever grateful that I am able to look back on photos of my dad now that he's gone, but pictures don't have to only be for those we have lost, but also for those we love. I am forever grateful for the people this business has led me to meet, and I hope it continues for years to come. Please always be honest with how I can serve you best, because that is always the goal.

This is my favorite photo of me and my dad. I've been to this location many times since his passing, and it's so fun to have this picture to look back on. He was what you call a man's man, and he loved being outside. I can't say I got that from him, but I try to appreciate even partially how he did.

As you can tell, I was ready to be a bride from a very young age! Weddings are such an intimate event and you deserve to have the day you've always dreamed of. Your way.

This is a tattoo I got on my arm that is in my dad's handwriting from his prayer journal. It's my favorite reminder that the Lord sees and hears me, even when I feel alone.
